Reformation Tour

So these last two weeks have been crazy busy here at AFCOE Europe. Last week we had cooking classes that went very well! We had about 10-12 visitors who came out from the community. Last week we also had two tests. Then we left Friday on our Reformation Tour which we are still on right now.

(I'll have to post some pictures in another blog post when we get back to Frankfurt cause it takes forever to upload photos on this internet here at the Youth Hostel.)

On Friday we drove from Frankfurt to Eisenach, and saw the Wartburg Castle. This is the castle where Martin Luther was hidden in for almost a year. And this was where he translated the New Testament from Greek to German in a period of only 10 weeks. From Eisenach we drove up to Wittenburg where we are staying. We went to church at the small Adventist church here in Wittenburg on Sabbath, then Sunday through Today we have been having classes on the reformation, and taking tours of the city. Right next to where we are staying is the church where Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door. Unfortunately the whole church building is covered with scaffolding and plastic because they are restoring it for the 500 year celebration of the Reformation in 2017.

Tomorrow (Thursday) we will be visiting Eisleben, where Martin Luther was born and where he also died. And on Friday we will be visiting Erfurt, where Martin Luther was a Monk.

I'll try to write a blog post and post pictures this weekend when I get back to Frankfurt.

Well there's one picture of Wartburg Castle! (Took forever to upload! :P)
