Wartburg Castle

On the first day of our Reformation trip we went to the Wartburg Castle, in Eisenach, Germany. Martin Luther was here in 1521 after he made his famous speech at the Diet of Worms. He was kidnapped by friends to keep himself safe.

I love the Architecture in the Castle!

The Inside of this room was amazing! These pictures don't do it justice!

This was the main ballroom. The cool thing is that when the Kids of Eisenach graduate from Highschool they receive their diplomas here!!!

This is the room where Martin Luther Translated the Greek New Testament into the German language in only 10 weeks!!! There is also a story that the Devil appeared to Martin Luther, and Luther threw his inkwell at the devil. Of course he missed, and ended up hitting the wall. (Most everything in this room was not original unfortunately.)

The View from the Castle walls, It probably wasn't too terrible of a place to be locked up for a year.

This is the best picture I could get of the Castle with the Sun in the position that it was.

I was in a real live Castle though, it was pretty awesome!
